We have been a part of Salto Gymnastics club for 8 years. I am so angry and sad. Today we received an email that our amazing coach was fired (after she complained about her treatment) and the 12 and 16 hour programs for Acro gymnastics are being cancelled. This affects my daughters who are both a part of this program and love it. They hired a new Executive director in June. Since then at least 6 athletes left, three employees have quit and another coach has filed a lawsuit. Many parents have complained. She is a bully who is micromanaging, belittling and condescending. Instead of listening to the parents the board has decided to 'restructure' It is a not for profit program for children run by a volunteer board of directors. Our complaints fell on deaf ears. It is unbelievable the way the coaches and our athletes were being treated. My daughters are devastated. We are actively looking for a new club.

Very poorly run business. We had our child in gymnastics in the spring. Without warning (though they claim an email was sent) $44 was taken out of our account. I have searched and found nothing in my emails, junk folder and all. They claim no registration fee was charged.. I paid $89 a month for one class a week for preschool aged classes. Which in our family was a lot of money for us, and I was super disappointed in the program but we stuck it out and finished the program. (coach was great and very good) just the program itself could have been WAY better for what you pay. That being said if you need to take money out 6 months later… that’s garbage. If your in the hole maybes it’s time to close the doors. Instead of pulling money without notice. That would be considered theft.. very disappointed in this facility and I WILL NOT be bringing my kids back.

We had our daughter in this for few years and she had made the pre competive team and did that for a year she loved it and this year she made the competive she was so excited she had made friends and loved the coaches. But unfortunately that all got taken away from us like many families few weeks ago . So we decided to pull her out completely and we happily found a new gym who accepted her . I do not recommend this place they are in a very hard spot right now I don't even if they'll make it through this year . So sad for many athletes that got pulled under rug past couple of months.

Salto gymnastics has been a part of my families lives for many years and as of Friday October 10th the current ED and President and board of directors fired the head coach of the Acro program and pulled the plug on the Acro program which was the biggest and most successful program at Salto and all of Alberta this now effects over 30 athletes.

This is a children facility and it is run by a leader who makes hurtful comments to coaches and athletes and parents and for me I can’t support a bully or recommend a club that is run by this type of a leader. I am beyond sadden to say that a place is no longer somewhere I can recommend. I won’t stand for bullying and I am so saddened by what they have done to all of these children and their families.
You squashed the dreams of so many talented athletes and for what reason?

This organization (board of directors) crushed the dreams of many athletes just a few months into the season by abandoning a once well respected program (Acro), and leaving young athletes no choices to enroll into other programs. If you are on the board, then give your head a big shake. Shame on you. You are literally the reason why I have to tell my 10 year old child that her 12 hour/week competitive gymnastics has abruptly ended.
If your plan is to drop a program, then have some respect, and do it at the end of season. Give the girls a chance to find and audition for a new competitive gymnastics studio. I can't emphasize enough how much this board has tainted Salto's reputation, and good luck trying to rebuild it.

Hi everyone my names lexi and as many know myself and my family have been going to salto gymnastics for now 19 years .. I grew up here at salto gymnastics and retired from an injury and then transferred over to coaching , i loved coaching so much and had such a great group of athletes i however after years of going there ended up getting bullied out of that building and therefor moving to another gymnastics club called wild rose gymnastics which was the best decision i ever made for myself and for my athletes who ended up following me there to be coached by myself , the coaches at wild rose were so welcoming to me and what a great atmosphere and group of people they have over there i will forever recommend them to parents putting their kids in gymnastics! I’m so grateful my girls are in such good hands and doing so well over there . However this review is now about the people in charge there currently . My sisters have been in the acro program for many years now and have lost both their coaches to bullying from “leaders” who should not be leading a non profit kids club!!!! Bullying is not acceptable and to CANCEL a program that these coaches BUILT is beyond me , i’m DISGUSTED by these two “ladies” behaviours and will never step foot into this place again ! I Will never ever ever understand how you became an ED and how the president did nothing about your actions even when complaints were made about bullying and coaches feeling mistreated… a coach should never feel bullied at a place of work . ( as someone who went through bullying by ( you the current president i hope you sleep well tonight ) Way to show your true colours and let everyone finally know how RIGHT i was about (the current president) Without Acro salto is a joke ! I wish I didn’t even have to put 1 star .

I have been a part of the acrobatic gymnastics program for the past 8 years, I have represented the club, team Alberta and team Canada at multiple competitions and yesterday October 11 that all got taken away. Salto fired my amazing coach for standing up for herself when she was being bullied and then they discontinued the program that I love so much. 6 months ago salto hired a new executive director and it has been nothing but a mess since then. Six of my fellow athletes have left the program and my old coach quit because of this new director. She is the opposite of what the leader should be, she is rude and aggressive. She try's to be in constant control of everything and makes decisions on things she doesn't understand and doesn't consider what the consequences will be. I can't even believe that the Salto board would make the decision to shut down the most successful program they have ever had. We are actively searching for a new club to train at so we can continue doing the sport we love in a safe welcoming environment because salto is the opposite of that now.

My daughter hasn’t gone there in over 6 months, today we got charged $44 to our bank account and was told it was because we were never charged the registration fee… they claim they sent us a notification. (That was a lie, prove that you sent an email we didn’t get anything) going back 6 months of invoicing to find lost money 😂 If you’re that Hurtin, close your doors. (A better idea would be to operate your business like a business and not an amusement park) carnies. We were just about to register our two kids for gymnastics. You lost out on $160 monthly for a 6 month old $44 charge. Keep up the great work!
