Schellenberg is an awesome place to horseback ride! Awesome coaches and awesome, well-trained horses and the owner is very approachable. This barn is a DRAMA FREE barn. No arguing between riders, parents or coaches and everyone is treated with the same amount of respect. I would recommend this barn if you are a beginner and want to get into riding, if you had stopped riding and would like to start back up again or if you already ride on a regular basis and you would like to switch barns.

My horse and I have been boarding at Schellenberg for over a year now and we couldn't be happier. Angie and Steve assiduously maintain every aspect of the property and the care of the horses is first-rate. The barn and stalls are beautiful...bright and roomy with excellent air flow which makes them cool in the summer and cozy in the winter. There are two gorgeous indoor arenas and a huge outdoor sand ring so there is always somewhere to lunge or ride your horse. The owners take great care in selecting experienced and knowledgable staff and instructors so that everything runs smoothly and have been very accomodating when my horse has required individualized care. The paddocks are lovely and I appreciate that they are rotated regularly so that my horse can enjoy grass turn-out in the warmer months. My horse has really thrived here; he's shiny, happy and healthy. Also, the board is very reasonable when you factor in the central location, quality of the facilities, access to top-notch instruction and the level of personal care that each horse receives. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend this barn whether you want to take lessons or are looking for a new boarding facility for your horse 🙂

Great barn!! My grand-daughter learned to ride at this barn. Horses and students welfare always a top priority. Coaches and owners very approachable and always very helpful. Highly recommend this barn to anyone from beginner to experienced riders.

I've been to this barn a few times to watch a friend ride. As an observer, I would like say that the facility is clean. I did notice that some horses did not get time outside to run around and expel their extra energy. The quality of the instructors has decreased over the recent years and some of the very recommended instructors no longer work at the facility. As an observer and as someone who has ridden, these small things speak to the general oversight of the facility. It would appear to me that the owner has shifted their attention to dog breed and simply looks at the facility as a source of income.

Yes - its a way to make an income but as a horse lover and rider; I'd like the place I ride at or board my horse to be the owners top priority. I would expect them to regularly turn out the horses and ensure that the teaching staff is equally as happy as the clients/horses.

Last note, this is a space to provide open and honest reviews on the facility, etc. Its interesting that the responder to these reviews only comments on those that reflect the facilities flaws and does not provide a "thank you" for those that are positive...food for thought.

I board my horse at Schellenberg Stables and it is a fantastic facility. The staff is knowledgable and friendly and the horses are very well taken care of. The barn is drama-free and has a great environment with top notch facilities. My horse and I are very happy at Schellenberg!

Stable not bad, pretty good selection of horses, both arenas are relatively nice, and there is a decent-sized arena outside as well. Decent prices as well. Owner is approachable and nice to chat with, but the biggest issue is with the staff who is not that friendly and coaches are lacking experience and professionalism, more suited for beginners, plenty of room for improvement there

It has come to my attention that Schellenberg Stables has been unjustly criticized, criticism is one thing but to offer up such untruthful criticism is another. As a rider, I look for some very important factors in a stable.
How clean is the facility, how healthy and happy are the horses (animals in general), the experience of their coaches as well as their coaches abilities to assess and instruct, as well as the overall knowledge, respect and positive treatment of all who are affiliated with the stable and visitors. Schellenberg meets these standards. What bothers me Pawel P is you have no affiliation with Schellenberg and clearly have not done your research. If you had you would have noticed their line up of "A" level instructors who have CHOSEN to teach at Schellenberg due to Schellenberg's years of experience and incredible dedication to not just teach HORSE AND RIDER but support a very positive environment for all ages and levels. I would say it was possible you lacked patience in the evaluation process for not just your safety but to better assess the best horse for your skill level if you have ridden here. Schellenberg's horses participating at the Royal is a privilege of the talented and experienced. Confident people without ego are the ones who achieve the greatest success, not just in what they do but in who they become. Schellenberg Stables is a positive force in children becoming those great individuals. But the amazing thing about this stable is regardless of the diverse people that are a part of it all are able to leave their differences at the gate and remember everyone who takes part here has one thing in common, their love of horses and the love of their sport! And no one teaches this better than Angie Dunlop! Clearly this is not the place for you, so thank you for leaving the space open for the people who know what they want to achieve and are willing to work for it, patience, hard lessons and all!
