Great place for kids to get exercise but also learn about life. Master Davidson instills core values into the children each week such as respect, confidence, leadership and integrity. The kids have fun but also learn about discipline and boundaries. You can attend as many classes as you like each week.

I enrolled my 3 year old boy at this place a couple of months ago and can already see a big difference in him. Best instructors and great place for the little ones. My kid is learning so much more than just kicking and punching. He is taught how to respect others, have patience and be more confident. This has been by far one of the best decisions I’ve made. The Seung-ri Academy instructors are excellent. Every one of them is skilled, knowledgeable, and encouraging no matter your skill level. They work well as a team but each has a something different to offer, making them all great to learn from. I’ve noticed many positive changes in my daughter since starting and I’ve enjoyed watching her develop every week. She has more confidence and is learning that she can do things she didn't think she could before. We are both students now and going to class is the highlight of my week. The classes are fun and as an adult, it’s a satisfying challenge to learn a new physical skill. Everyone associated with the academy is great; staff, students, and parents, and I cannot recommend the experience enough.

Our family joined Seung-ri Academy this past April after 2 colleagues of mine recommended the school. My children (ages 4 and 7) began their training first and as I observed them enjoying their classes I was compelled by the quality of the training program to join as well. I began my training in May and my husband began in June. We have been thrilled with the quality and consistency of training as well as the welcoming, community feel of the academy. (We train at the South Surrey location)
Each instructor brings a unique perspective to your technique and they are capable of providing instruction tailored to each student’s learning style in order to achieve results. Mr. Raphael teaches many of the Tiny Tigers and Karate for Kids classes and I can honestly say I have yet to see another a children’s instructor or teacher in any other program that is as relatable, patient or kind! Mr. R. Davidson has a passion for precision and his dedication to creating a quality training experience shines through in every class! Mr Skaar gives a fun and fierce workout and will push you to be your best.
I recommend this Taekwondo Academy to all of my friends and family. As a family, we are learning life skills at Seung-ri that are transferable to our every day lives. Respect, communication and self-esteem have been our focuses so far and I am thrilled that my children are learning more than just physical skills and getting aerobic exercise. The social and emotional learning will be equally beneficial for life-long mental health and wellness.

I wanted my daughter to learn a martial art that would teach her how to embrace the confidence I already knew she had. After researching MANY academies, I had the pleasure of meeting Mr. Davidson (Sr).
After voicing what my goals were for Shayla ( my daughter ) and the way Mr. Davidson listened to what she herself wanted to accomplish, I knew I had found the right place for her to not only train but grow as a person.
She asked me if I would join with her and I did. Undoubtedly the best decision I have made.
Not only have I watched her growth in so many ways, confidence, respect, self motivated and so much more.

Seung-ri Martial Arts Academy is a dedicated Taekwondo school that manages to foster balance of a strict, disciplined environment while still being fun, supportive, encouraging and nurturing when needed.

Our eldest son started when he was 4.5yrs old and since then has been taught by all the amazing instructors. Each one has their own teaching style while cohesively training the same material and encouraging each student and their learning needs.

It is true that some kids cry during or after class as a beginner and eldest was one of them. I personally watched the instructors help, encourage and teach him self confidence, strength, resilience, perseverance and commitment and they continued to do so throughout the time he was at the academy. It took a couple of months for him to really get comfortable with the class and material but after that he was always excited to go and see what he could learn and accomplish next. He also made some great friends there as well.

Because our eldest was doing so well in class we took the opportunity to enrol our twins in their 3yr old Tiny Tiger program taught by Mr. Robert Davidson. Our daughter is a very strong willed busy girl so our goal for her was developing focus, discipline and respect. Our goals for our youngest son were two fold. He has some gross motor and speech delays with some behavioural challenges. Our goals for him were focus, balance/strength and discipline. We were upfront about our concerns for our youngest son and instead of being concerned or negative about it they were very positive, encouraging and did everything in their power to work through those challenges. The class brought the twins closer together and both of them were developing better focus, respect and self discipline. We saw a huge improvement with youngest son in his behaviour, balance and speech in just a couple of months.

The school and the instructors foster a family oriented environment and are committed to bringing the best out of each student by focusing not just on martial arts skills but also on building strong individuals with a sense of reposnibility and community commitment. As a parent it can be difficult to sit on the sidelines and watch your kids be pushed. Trust these instructors, they know what they are doing and my kids are stronger for it. Our family 100% recommends this school!
