I was in the Hospital for 10 days after an unexpected abdominal emergency surgery. I was terrified and alone through the ordeal but the care and compassion I received from all the nurses and Drs was truly remarkable. From the ER to the OR to Nurses that cared for me in the room I am greatful. I wish I could remember all the names of these angels that made a very horrible situation better. Thank you!

I was brought here by ambulance following an unexpected event. I have to say that the treatment I received was outstanding. The nurses and techs were efficient and friendly. The 4 doctors I met took time to listen and time to explain. I was afforded the testing and analysis needed very efficiently. Having experienced big city hospitals in Ontario, Bracebridge was refreshingly efficient and cheerful.

I recently spent a week in the hospital and was very impressed by the nurses and doctors. The nurses are lovely and the doctors know their stuff.
Yes, the wait can be long in the ER at times, but that’s because there’s people who need more urgent medical attention. It’s not the hospitals fault. If you are going for something minor, you’re going to wait a long time. Go to a walk-in instead, or try Central Region Virtual Urgent Care Clinic.

This hospital is honestly the worst.

I work in an industry that deals with this hospital often. The amount of times they have misdiagnosed people blows my mind.

Also the emergency department:
I was there tonight with my 14 yr old step daughter- she hurt her foot, it was very swollen- I was assuming a quick X-ray to let us know if she had just sprained it or not.
We waited 4 hours and NO ONE SAW US. We did not speak to a single nurse or doctor after triage and ended up just leaving.
3.5 hours in, I asked a nurse if we were forgotten about because no one had come to talk to us. She said ‘you’re on the list but there’s only one doctor in the whole hospital tonight.’
Guess we’ll go to a hospital in a different town to get an X-ray tomorrow…

The initial checkin and waiting is pretty inefficient and slow. It takes hours for them to take 1 person.
Once you are admitted - the staff is friendly and I was dealt with pretty quickly.

This hospital is one of the worst care facilities I have ever attended to as a patient. The past two times I have been at the Bracebridge Hospital and the few times before I moved here, were literally the worst experiences I’ve ever had. This hospital makes you wait unbelievably long wait times and when seen by a doctor. Nothing ever is done, not even one lousy prescription or X-ray ect. I think their motto is, “if they don’t look dead upon arrival, make them wait and send them home.” Great place for a misdiagnosis, and it’s funny everywhere there are signs in this town to “Save the South Muskoka Hospital”. But why save this useless infrastructure honestly, I am at the point with the worst healthcare in Ontario I’ve ever experienced in Bracebridge, that I’m thinking of perhaps moving from this area now.

Thank you to the emergency department for taking care of me and for the services from the drs and nurses. There were some bumps in the road but I appreciate how quick the services were, the seriousness, and the ability to come back for tests the next day. I felt that they truly listened and provided appropriate care. Thanks again.
