Steckle Heritage Farm is such a magical place! It’s not just a farm—it’s a hands-on classroom where kids learn to care for animals with kindness and curiosity. The staff are warm and welcoming, and every visit feels like a chance to connect with nature in the sweetest way.

We had our wedding ceremony and reception at Steckle this past May and cannot imagine having it anywhere else. It's impossible to sum up everything this shockingly beautiful and unique venue has to offer: scenery and backdrops for photos, space for lawn games, proximity to hotels and Airbnbs, indoor and outdoor spaces for ceremony, reception, and cocktail hour, a huge collection of decor, tables, seating, and a bar on site, and so much more. The bathrooms are really nice, something we had difficulty finding at other barn venues.

The authenticity of this 200-year-old barn and property is enchanting. It has a palpable sense of history that brought magic to the day. The historic and authentic farm has countless backdrops and scenery for photos: outbuildings with old stone walls, grass fields, an orchard and gardens, sunflower fields, and the gorgeous aged wood walls and beams of the barn. We got very lucky with the weather, and our photographer was able to get amazing sunset photos of me and my husband.

It is close to hotels and Airbnbs in Kitchener, Cambridge, and Waterloo, and the guests who flew in really appreciated that. Because of its size and thick tree line, you would never guess you were in town.

There is so much space for activities; we brought badminton, cornhole, ladder ball, and even set up a crochet course for our guests.

They have a huge collection of decor that will save you from so many rentals: long harvest tables, seating, wine barrels, a bar, and so much more. It is definitely worth looking through the decor booklet they have.

The staff and team at Steckle are incredible. They are so fun to work with, and it was an absolute pleasure to spend time with them during the planning process.Thadeus and Katherine went above and beyond to make everything fit into our vision for the day. They were extremely responsive to our ideas and inquiries. They ensured we could spend the time we needed at the venue in the months leading up to the event to gather measurements and photos and envision the setup for the big day.

My family just visited the farm for the first time for their Easter Egg hunt and we absolutely loved it. The whole event was well organized and not overly structured. They also had it set up in such a way that everyone recieved the same amount of treats, which was fantastic as my 2 year old often gets overshadowed by the bigger kids at events. They had many different animals, all of whom seemed well cared for, and so much space for the kids to run and play and just be kids!
One of our favourite things though was the staff. Every single person we spoke with was friendly and engaged the children, even my 9 month old. It was fantastic and we will be back again!

We hosted our daughters birthday party at Steckle Farm in July and it was a huge success. All the kids had a fantastic time and we've received messages from many of the parents telling us it was their kids favourite party they've ever been to. They loved visiting the animals (especially the chickens) and doing a craft!

The grounds and barn were also beautifully kept and it was nice just to walk around the property.

Lastly. the staff that worked our party were fantastic with the kids and patiently helped them meet all the animals and work on their craft. I should also mention that the office staff were also fantastic and communicative during the whole process.

Overall we were super happy with Steckle Farm and plan on coming back!

Recently had a family gathering here and it was great. The barn is rustic and lovely, the grounds are beautiful. The kids enjoyed visiting the animals and the play area in the barn. It was a hot day but there was a lovely breeze through the big open door, making the spacious barn airy and pleasant. The staff helped us move tables. The farmers in the crowd had fun examining the architecture of the barn. There was no toilet paper in the bathrooms but, when asked, staff replenished it. Great venue for a party or wedding.

Very bad experience! Went to celebrate a birthday party on the weekend, showed up to learn that the day had been triple booked, mangers could not be reached and the situation was left up to the staff working which were under 18. The customers were left to figure it out and come to an agreement, staff said policy is the bigger party gets the barn. So we lucked out on that, set policy… which obviously this happens often if they have a policy. The other parties were sent outside in the heat.
The barn itself is very dirty and had gross dirty trays that were used for who knows what available for our child to touch left on the stage and benches. The bathrooms were disgusting, I had to change my babies diaper and with the state of their change table, I decided to take her for the long walk back to my car to change her.
Overall will not be taking my family there again, very unorganized and not worth the money if you are looking for somewhere for an event. If they couldn’t handle a children’s birthday party I wouldn’t trust them with a wedding.

We love going there every Tuesday with my 3-years old. There is so much to see and discover every time we go there. Last time we fed the pigs to apples. An unique homestead only a couple minutes drive from home.

We had a great time at Steckle Heritage Farm for my child’s 4th birthday! Hannah was fantastic and shared lots of interesting information about the farm animals; and ensured everyone was safe and had an opportunity to interact (to their comfort) with the animals. The visit was the perfect length of time to meet and interact with all the animals, go on a hayride, and make a really cute craft. Afterward, we enjoyed some refreshments and the kids had a blast in the adorable play area inside the beautiful barn. Highly recommend it!

The event coordinator, Hannah, was so wonderful with all the little kids, very helpful and friendly throughout and ensured everything ran smoothly.
