Sundance Resort - Beaverdell, British Columbia

Premier séjour à Big White : bien.||||Première donc aussi au Sundance. On a séjourné aux unités 127 (3 nuits) et 306A (nuits). Propre, bien situé à 5 min à pieds à l'est du village tout à côté du Bullet Chair. Le bain tourbillon de fin de journée devient une nécessité dans mon planning de voyages de skis ! Casiers à skis facile d'accès sur place, staff serviables (bien qu'il semble avoir peu de marge de manœuvre pour servir les clients à son loisir). L'endroit est propre, fonctionnel et bien tenu. Pas de risque à ce niveau.||||Les unités sont bien équipés, bien qu'assez minimalement côté cuisine pour le #127. Le sofa-lit dont j'ai hérité après le tirage était très confo. Celui de l'autre unité cependant mériterait la retraite. Peu à redire donc, sauf peut-être aussi la surchauffe de l'unité 306A qui demeurait trop chaud malgré le thermostat à zéro (fenêtre ouverte en hiver!!)||||Bon, on n'a pas été choyé coté température ; mère Nature nous a servi du brouillard tous les jours dont un que je n'avais jamais vu aussi épais de ma vie. On ne voyait à peine la 2e chaise devant nous en remontant. La neige cette année est au rendez-vous—en quantité!||||MAIS ! (il y a toujours un mais)||• Déçu d'avoir été confronté à plusieurs reprises à la rigidité de la gestion du complexe (pas droit au rabais de la 4e journée de ski gratuite pour un séjour de 5 nuit car on nous a déménagé dans un second appartement pour les nuits 4 et 5 ; on a dû attendre à 16h pour avoir accès à notre 2e « chez nous » alors qu'il aurait dû être prêt plus tôt dans les circonstance (le moindre qu'ils auraient pu faire pour nous, mais il semble que “The check-in is at 4pm sir.” No Ifs, no Buts. :-(||• L'éventail de restos sur place est très limité. À savoir pour gérer ses attentes. On est loin de l'étendue de l'offre d'autres destinations ski.||• Le choix de produits est plus que limité au marché d'alimentation —et les prix, les prix! Surprenant et assez décevant pour une “resort” qui présente un si grand inventaire en appartement-condo. Alors, quand on veut se cuisiner un souper, well... ||||Mais au total, heureux d'y être allé. Le ski y est varié bien que ce ne soit pas une destination pour le skieur en quête de défi. Le paysage est unique à cette portion des chaines de l'Ouest, sommets plus arrondis que les Rocheuses, mais bien évidemment plus hauts que les Laurentides ! ||||Une recommandation : c'est davantage une destination familiale, comme d'ailleurs leur positionnement le dit si bien : “Canada's Favorite Family Resort”. Bon voyage.

We just stayed here for 5 nights the location is close to Village. Friendly staff quick check in. Rooms are nice and clean and easy to access from skiing. They have lockers for your gear. Our favourite part was the shuttle service which we used a lot to visit local friends. The shuttle drivers were awesome, friendly and outgoing. Underground parking, 2 outdoor hot tubs and a large heated pool. We will definitely be staying here anytime we visit Big White. Thank you for making our stay enjoyable.

Unit # 203 is amazing. Brand new livingroom furniture with a queen sofabed and a matching loveseat. Super high end quality. The king bed was so comfy. Very well equipped unit and had everything we needed. Mint condition. Would ask for this 1 bedroom again. This building has it all and the pool hottubs are a big bonus at the end of the day. Well worth the price with great ski in ski out location. The on demand free shuttle included with this building is the best if all and no other building on the mountain offers this service.

I've been to Big White several times but have never stayed here before, and I would certainly stay here again. ||We had a good-sized suite, with a bedroom and lounge. The bedroom could do with a couple of those lamps with USB slots on the bedside tables since the plugs were difficult to use to charge devices. This is a common problem in the US and Canada, where the two parallel prongs on an adaptor plug don't provide enough friction to stay in the wall (travel adaptors are often too heavy). ||Other than that, the bed was comfortable and there was a good amount of storage space. ||The bathroom was adequate in size. I did not like the use of small, fiddly and environmentally-questionable tubes of body wash etc. - much better to have large pump-action bottles. Oh, and the shower made a terrible noise when in operation (Room 408). ||The kitchen area was well supplied with utensils, but the coffee maker was very small. ||The hotel was certainly ski-in-ski-out in January 2025, and the service provided by the hotel's shuttle was exceptional. Quite the best shuttle service I have ever had at a hotel - efficient, easy to get in touch with and staffed by good, courteous drivers.

Amazing location , a spacious room 330 was amazing, fully contained kitchen to cook your own meals and spread out .
Also stayed in cabin 9 absolutely awesome 3 levels living area is huge on the middle floor . Personal hot tub downstairs for some post skiing/boarding recovery .
Ski slope about 20m from your door . Cannot fault Sundance at all

The resort is great. The pool, hot tubs, games rooms, movie theater and steam room keep us all occupied when we are off the hill.
The staff is exceptional. They have gone above and beyond to help us whenever we needed it. Our luggage was delayed by 2 days and they were tracking it, doing their best to get it delivered and staying in constant communication with us.

I would highly recommend this resort to anyone staying in Big White

Great apartment apart from the fact that it faced North. When booking make sure to request an apartment facing South for some fantastic views.! However, apartment itself spacious and well appointed. Beds were really very comfy. We really enjoyed the hot tubs at the pool area...The pool itself and organised kids activities are aimed at younger children (pre-teens). Sundance resort itself properly ski in / out and a short (3-5min) walk from the village centre. Overall great accommodation and location but make sure to get an apartment with a view..!!

We have stayed in Sundance many times. It's an excellent location but you couldn't call it ski in ski out this year. The road in isn't accessible from the Sundance run and the ski out has been chopped up and on different levels where the groomer finishes and the Sundance maintenance begins for the past month. It could be fixed but hasn't been. ||The barbecue (which was only half working last time we were here) has been removed. So no common bbq any more. The hot tubs need a good clean (tiles have film on them) and painting. The theatre movies must still be the same ones as when Sundance was first opened because they are all very old. It just all feels very tired. ||House services are good but need to provide decent salt and pepper in shakers not in the silly packets (somebody else mentioned this and it's just annoying asking for salt and pepper every day). ||This resort could still be a four or five star resort with a bit of attention but I get the feeling people don't want to spend the money on it.
