I absolutely love this store. The owners are wonderful, kind-hearted people and emulate the small town charm of Deep River. I haven't lived here very long, but as we have pets, this store was my first stop when we moved here, so the owners were pretty much the first people I met. They've been so good to us. Welcomed me to town, gave me treats for my pup, and are always so helpful. A few months after I moved here, I had walked into town and got caught in the rain. The owners saw me and my dog waiting for the rain to stop and insisted to give us a ride home. They helped me when I got my kitten, they respect Canadian Soldiers, they contribute to the community, and they even remember my last name and pronounce it correctly which is something most of my coworkers can't even do.
Thanks so much for all your advice, kindness, and help; you guys are the best!

That last post/review upset me; I'm sorry if you think they were watching you to make sure you don't steal, maybe you moved here from the city like me, and are used to that, but I guarantee you that they weren't monitoring you... She was genuinely just trying to be there to offer advice or help you find something if you needed. They are the nicest people you'll ever meet, and you should be ashamed of yourself for spreading such awful gossip and insulting their business model as if you know better. Stop bullying local businesses, writing online reviews shouldn't be a source of affirmation for you. Find a real hobby, and have a gorgeous day.

This store has it all! Variety of foods, toys, staples, and knowledge! In the 9 months I’ve lived here I’ve often stopped in to share a dog story, ask a question about dog food ingredients, or to learn more about local services, (trainers, etc.). The owners are thoughtful and caring “pet people” who are happy to have a conversation or collaboration about our four legged friends!

placed an order 41 min after they closed and it appeared on my doorstep within half an hour, wow! tobyandbellas always goes the extra mile to make sure we get exactly what we need and the home delivery is so handy. we love shopping here!

Toby and Bella's are the knowledgeable and caring pet store I've ever been to. They've helped me on multiple occasions to find the right food for my dogs and cat based on their needs and taste. John and Mel (the owners) will stop at nothing to help local pet families in Deep River and will special order things in, deliver, and put on community events like photos with Santa to support the local shelter. I would simply be lost without them! They really care about the community and the people and pets who keep their business alive. Their prices are the same if not better than big box stores, so no excuse to shop anywhere else.

I live in this town and have visited this store twice. Never will i go again. The first time we were followed the entire time.... Like the lady thought my spouse and i would steal something. I felt uncomfortable which prompted me to leave empty handed.

I went a second time to give the benefit of the doubt and the same thing. You are followed.... It's not even a subtle follow.... The lady literally stays in the aisle you are in and watches you with her hands behind her.

The gentleman who was there was kind. Stayed near the register. Friendly greeting and goodbye... Was dealing with customers at the cash.

The aisles are very close together, tight fit for 2 people crossing paths in the same aisle... and there is an abundance of product (too much for the space) which made me think it could be a reason we were followed.... If you have too much stuff where you can't monitor or keep sight of your stock or customers respectably... That's your first sign to cut back and maybe make shelves no taller than eye height so you can have a better view directly from the front/ cash.

I know you have loyal customers but i have been put off completely by this store. It's hard to support local when an experience like this happens.

We love our local pet store Toby and Bellas. Always kind and they always have what we need for our duggo. When our old boy Sheldon passed I could tell that they genuinely love animals and shared our sadness for a moment while I was purchasing for our other dog. We moved to the area from a bigger town for the small town life for for family. Toby and Bellas has been great. We will be life long customers.
The smoked soup bones are a big hit also haha, can't get enough of those.
