I was thrilled to hear my son wanted to take this program as he is an indigenous young man looking to succeed in a construction. I have just became aware that my son alomg with other students in the program were being bullied and those bullies were allowed to get away with it. Many students were uncomfortable by these bullies and it just made for a very horrible experience at this program. And the main bully was a young woman. Why? From what I was told, she was allowed to get away with numerous things throughout without being penalized. I wish I had known this at the time. I always wondered why my son was reluctant to go sometimes and even came home upset. But he never told me about this until now. This was a couple years ago an dobvipusly it has bothered him all this time. I'm just so disappointed in this program for letting this happen.

Great place for starting trades people
The staff and instructors are fair and only want to see you succeed. I was in a tough situation but they helped me through it because I had the drive to keep going. I see a lot of bad things on the notes from people, and it isn’t what the people who couldn’t make say it is .

Hello I took this program, as I didnt make it in time for NAIT so I saw this as an alternative.
It was alright at first but soon realised how not helpful their practices were. They don't care if you succeed or fail you are just a way to get government funding for their salaries. (Equilivent to Child Protective Services, they take advantage of vulnerable First Nations People trying to get into the trades, only seeing you as a source of income) theres no supports once you get in, they are not understanding of First Nations barriers to trades.

I was discriminated/profiled against from the teacher Ian for not passing as white & being late (mind I was commuting from Ermineskin to Edmonton) he already decided I failed & created an unwelcoming environment for me.

Do not get funded to go here, NAIT is way better.
