It is important to approach this gymnastics class with caution. We enrolled our 5 yo child and have had some concerns. The overall cleanliness of the facility is lacking; for instance, the windows facing the gymnastics area are quite dirty, making it difficult to see outside.

Additionally, the instructors seem to be less engaged than expected. There are times when they allow the children to play freely without providing much guidance or instruction. On some occasions, an instructor was observed using her cellphone instead of interacting with the kids. This raises concerns about the quality of instruction being offered.

Based on our experience, we cannot recommend this facility to others, especially for those looking for a structured gymnastics program for their children.

Our son did gymnastics summer camp at this location for a few weeks this year. We could not have been more pleased with the development of our child and positive attitude of staff. Highly recommended.

My daughter attended the Jumpstart class on Saturday (Feb 1, 2025) and accidentally left her pink jacket behind. When we returned on Tuesday （ Feb 4, 2025)to look for it, it was nowhere to be found. Unfortunately, the building does not have cameras at the entrance or in the club.

If anyone picked it up by mistake, we would really appreciate it if you could return it. It has sentimental value to her. Please bring it back to the front desk. Thanks.

I signed my child up for summer camp. I don't think I will come back for camp, but maybe for their classes, only because there are no other options in the immediate area. The staff seems friendly and the gymnastics component seems fine.

My main concern is safety and organization at this facility.

The camp is supposed to start at 9am, but the entire camp is loitering at the lobby until 9:30-9:40, the coaches are just chatting in the corner. They would not be able to see the entrance or where the girls go when they go down the hallway to the washroom. If a stranger came into the facility, no one would know. If the girls went into the gym through the changeroom, no one would know. The back door at the back of the gym is always opened, if someone walked into the gym, no one would know. On top of that, most parents are on time, sending their kids at 9 or a little past 9, but the coaches chat until 9:30 or even 9:40. Campers ask them when they will go in, "soon" is their arbitrary answer. The coaches don't even interact with the bored girls who are just sitting around on the couch, talking, eating candy, colouring...waiting. From a safety perspective, they are lucky that these girls are well behaved and that it's in a 'safe' area. From a child program facilitating perspective, I wonder if there's any instructions, or formal training.

Overall I feel like this place can make simple but impactful improvements.
- the front area of the facility feels old. The couches are old. Even the cloth covering the couch has holes in them.
- the entire place needs to be cleaned, I'm talking about a simple wipe-down. There is dust everywhere, in their own front office, in the shelving in the hallway. I understand the gym can get dusty with chalk, but I'm talking about the front area right now, if the front can get this dirty, what does the back look like?
- the window to look into the gym has so many fingerprints!
- the place just feels dirty, unorganized and in need of a makeover.

Regardless of the facility and organization. I think my child is learning and having fun inside the gym. That is the only reason why I would return. I wish there were more gymnastic gyms in the area, because this facility and the organization of it would NOT be my first choice.

Tristar Gymnastics is hands down the best in Markham! The coaches are incredibly patient and skilled, always taking the time to make sure each child feels supported and confident.

They create a friendly and welcoming environment, and their passion for working with kids really shines through. My child always looks forward to their classes and has made amazing progress thanks to the dedicated coaching staff. If you’re looking for a gym that prioritizes both skill development and fun, Tristar is the place to be.

My daughter is training in the competitive program at Tri Star. I like that the recreation program is in a separate section from the competitive program so it is quieter for the competitive gymnasts to train. Coach Iuly is in regular contact with my wife regarding any challenges my daughter is having and the progress she is making; the communication is open. I was national level diver so I was looking for a high level coach but the style of coaching had to be fun or it was a deal breaker. So far, my daughter is having a blast! We made a difficult decision to leave our home gymnastics club where we felt safe, built friendships and had fun but I am thankful we are having a positive experience at Tri Star!

My daughter Esme was the youngest in the entire group and the team at TriStar made her feel welcome and gave her the care that any parent would be happy with. Esme learned so much from Coach May that she will probably be back in the Fall for regular classes. Keep up the great work!

My daughter started training here in 2022 in the competitive program and has learned so much this year. The coaches show dedication to the athletes; focusing on skill building and technique while making it fun! I feel confident in the coaches and know that although they can’t create miracles, they can help my daughter maximize her potential. She came from another club; also with good coaches and a healthy environment so I’m just thankful that in this day and age of gymnastics, my daughter has had a positive gymnastics experience from the start.
