I was thinking this was going to be our new church since we are relatively new to the beach but the sign out front at Christmas totally disappointed me. I will not even shop in a store where they use XMAS instead of Christmas so why would I want to attend a Church which is Christs own house and they had XMAS not once but twice on their outside sign for their Blue Christmas service . I was in shock to think they have X'd Christ out of his own Church service.

At Christmas I phoned to find out when the children were going to perform their Christmas pagent. I was told they had no children at their church. I was told to find another church if I was looking fir a church

I was raised and baptized in the United Church, as were my children. A few years ago I was looking for a place to move to, away from the busy city, and the Lord pointed me to Wasaga Beach. I watched the building of the new WBUC on-line, found it as another sign, moved to WB, summer of 2015, and quickly became a member of the church.
Nov 2020, I replied affirmatively, to their letter asking if I still wished to be a member of their church. I guess they were checking since not many were attending due to COVID-19.
I have an autoimmune disease so I have been following their on-line services. I also lost income due to COVID.
A few months ago, I received a letter from them, ending my membership since I hadn’t been attending in person (due to COVID + a threatening member of the church), hadn’t been financially contributing (lost income due to COVID), and, as they specifically pointed out, I hadn’t been in agreement to their enormous new addition their 3-4 yr old ‘new’ church,…which still did not include a Sunday School, because they still do not want to accommodate or encourage children to attend this church.
(They took out a bank loan they could not afford. They bragged they had obtained more money from The United Church of Canada than any of the other ‘full service’ churches who had applied for funds, when they themselves are NOT a full service church.
As one member said, “Hey, don’t forget, we won’t ever actually own this building, so if we can’t pay for it, what are they going to do?” Lol)

There is so much more damaging info, so I count my blessings. Do not be fooled by the name on this building. In no way does this church represent what I know to be the United Church.
If you are really seeking a Christian church in town, WB has many others from which to chose, or Elmvale’s St. John’s United Church.
God Bless you, and keep you all safe and healthy.✝️

New building is quite nice but this church does not represent the community well. It should be named Wasaga Beach Senior's church! I have nothing against seniors but this church has no facilities for families or children. No Sunday School or nursery, or even space to put one if desired. I would recommend going some where else if you have any children or do not identify as a senoir.

I have to say, especially in these trying days of COVID the United Church of Wasaga Beach is one place that I feel totally safe amongst people. They have a well laid out spacing, masking, tracing and sanitizing program. You are made to feel welcome, even if you have to be double vaxxed. Even their bake/craft sales or other events are regulated to the latest COVID protocols set out by Simcoe County.

It was away from home and we were on holiday so we just needed a place of worship for the weekend.

Beautiful church, was there for a funeral and found the ladies from the kitchen to be helpful and prompt.
