Aerial yoga at age 68? I was so excited my core strength is good but my upper body is poor. This class was fun, exhilarating, & a bit challenging.

The teacher, Kailey is special, she inspired my spirit through her thoughts and presence renewed me; a gentle touch at the class assured me it was OK to be there.

I can’t wait to go back for my next class at West Coast Hot Yoga💛

I don’t even know where to begin, as I have so much gratitude and appreciation for Westcoast Hot Yoga.

I absolutely love Aerial Yoga, but it took me nearly three years to find the courage to sign up for my very first class. Now, I’m in my second year of attending diverse sessions at Westcoast Hot Yoga, and I’ll never forget the warm, lovely welcome I received the very first time I walked in.

Aerial Yoga has helped me with so many physical issues, and has brought me inner peace. Every time I leave a session, whether it’s Aerial or hot yoga, I feel refreshed, strong, confident, complete, and free of pain. The classes are so well-guided, and everyone is genuinely welcoming and caring. What makes this place truly unique is the way Reiki is woven into the experience, along with the silk gently holding you in the air. It’s honestly the best gift I could give myself.

I consider this incredible place my second home. Whether I’m attending regularly or returning after a break, every visit is grounding, healing, and energizing. I’m deeply thankful to Kailey Veenstra for her beautiful energy and care her classes always go beyond expectations.

I’m also grateful to all the amazing instructors. And there’s more, the sound baths, the monthly rituals, and the Reiki Level 1 training I completed here have all supported my personal growth and overall well-being.

Westcoast Hot Yoga is a truly beautiful and sacred space to me. I recommend it to anyone looking to care for their whole being body, mind, and soul.

I have been coming to WC for several years now and have never been disappointed. All of the instructors and classes are top notch. Whether you’re looking for a day or weekend retreat, a 1-3 hour event or just a chill or challenging class (hot or not), they offer a variety of options. Every time I come, I leave more than satisfied and end up getting more than what I came for. Highly recommended!

I really wanted to like this yoga studio but unfortunately I haven’t had great experiences here. The first time I came here, I went to retrieve my belongings from the locked storage area after class and after I had retrieved my items, Taryn, the owner asked me not to do that and to wait for an employee to escort me, in front of a large group of people. The insinuation was that I would be stealing items, and I was embarrassed it wasn’t handled more delicately (eg pulled me aside and let me know in private). I would recommend letting new yoga guests know of the policy in advance, putting a sign on the storage area stating staff area only, or leaving the room locked until staff unlock it, to avoid such issues in the future (as how was I supposed to know, as the door was unlocked after practice and I thought guests were free to retrieve items after class - honestly a genuine mistake). However, I decided to go back to the studio and try a few more classes. Today, yoga instructor Anh singled me out at the start of class and asked me to move my small purse and sweater into the storage area. I was the only one, out of the whole room that was asked to do so, despite other people also having brought in a small purse, sweater, or fanny pack as well. Anh refused to lock up my sweater and asked me to leave it unlocked on a hook outside, even though it would have made no difference to her to take it in with my purse as well. I told Anh I had to leave right at the end of class to retrieve my items as I had another event at 10am and she said she would help me (which is part of the reason I had brought my items in with me- I didn’t want to wait for an employee to unlock the room after class as I knew it would probably be awhile, and not immediate, and this has never been an issue at any yoga studio I have gone to). Of course, I ended up waiting 10 minutes after class, as she was busy mingling with other patrons, making me late to my other event.
I didn’t want to interrupt in the middle of conversation, so I went up and asked her afterwards if she could retrieve my items for me, as it was clear she had forgotten at the end. I asked if I could have 30 seconds of her time to talk to her in private but she dismissed me and she was very busy and didn’t have the time as she had to clean for the next class (which is funny, as she had just spent time talking to all of the other attendees). I just wanted to explain to her how she had made me feel, by singling me in front of the whole class, and to see why she hadn’t asked anyone else to move their similar items, which were clearly visible in the yoga studio. I understand if that is store policy, but I believe that every single person who has brought in an item should be asked, and not just a single person out of a full class. I couldn’t help but feel racially profiled, as I am darker skinned and not Caucasian, as the majority of the class was. I am sure that was not her intention but when you ask only one person to adhere to policy in a full room, you can’t help but draw your own conclusions. I would have been fine to disregard the situation and move on but Anh was dismissive and not genuine when I was briefly speaking to her afterwards as I was retrieving my items. I sincerely wanted to resolve this privately but the fact that she was so defensive and lacking of empathy pushed me to publish this review. I hope this can be a great learning opportunity for the establishment on how to fairly treat all of its clientele, and on how to de-escalate any perceived inequalities or situations. This one star review is solely based on my interaction with Anh today, as the other points I could have moved past from. There are many local yoga studios, I would recommend you try another, based on my experience detailed above. If you do want to try this studio, make sure to download the ClassPass app and book classes through that, as it will be much cheaper than booking directly from the studio (I think it’s about $10-15/ class through the app).

This yoga studio is like no other. The variety of experiences between the different styles of teaching keeps me coming back for more. The space is so clean and inviting, the hot room is especially soothing on those cool spring nights. Tarryl's instruction and offerings are so welcoming, every level can benefit at any given time. Kailey’s breathwork and kryias take you to places previously unimagined. Francis. Sophie and Matthiew all have so many gifts to share. The somatic nature of the aerial yoga in silks coupled with such a full body strengthening, stretch and release makes this my favourite place in town to hang out. Tell your friends to come see what the fuss is about👌🏻✨5 stars!!

I have had the pleasure of being a student at Westcoast Hot Yoga for the past 10 years. After having read a one star review that I read today I felt the need to speak up. I was present during the alleged incidents and there is no fact to these statements. Unfortunately some people don’t understand rules and think they don’t apply to them. It’s clearly in writing on the studio entrance door that you can only bring in mats, towels and water. No phones hidden under mats. No bags. The studio is a place of spiritual practice for many of us and a peaceful environment is key. All of the staff are gracious and helpful. They bend over backwards to create a welcoming environment for all. If there had been even a hint of racism in the past 10 years I would not be there. Also the lovely Anh is of Asian heritage. She is an amazing teacher with a gentle heart and a lovely spirit. I have never heard her be anything but a kind, helpful person All are welcome regardless of gender, sexual orientation or race. . If you can’t abide by rules to enhance your experience than maybe it simply a case that you are not a good fit.

Embarking on a transformative yoga teacher training journey at West Coast Hot Yoga in White Rock has been a truly enlightening experience. From the moment I stepped into the vibrant studio, I was enveloped by a sense of warmth and tranquillity, setting the stage for an unforgettable adventure of self-discovery and growth.

One of the most remarkable aspects of my training was the calibre of the instructors, who exuded expertise, passion, and genuine care. Tarryl, Lauren, and Kamila are truly the heart and soul of this yoga community, and their dedication to the practice is nothing short of inspiring.

The training curriculum was thoughtfully designed to encompass a rich tapestry of yoga traditions, from the ancient wisdom of asanas and pranayama to the art of teaching and yoga philosophy. Every lesson was a revelation, offering a perfect balance of theory, practice, and introspection. Not only did I deepen my understanding of yoga as a physical practice, but I also delved into the spiritual and philosophical dimensions, enriching my perspective on life itself.

The studio's serene ambiance and the supportive community of fellow trainees created a nurturing environment where I felt safe to explore and expand my boundaries. The shared moments of laughter, vulnerability, and growth fostered deep connections and lifelong friendships.
