I graduated from the Bachelor of Interior Design program in 2022 and must say it was a great experience from the beginning till the end of my study. The program was flexible and I could fit all the courses into my busy schedule. Many classes I could take online which really helped me to save time on commute. For summer terms, I could take fewer classes, so I could plan my summer holidays. And, overall, I never felt lost during the study process. There was plenty of help from teachers and support staff, as well as many additional materials and videos that helped through the studies. I have received comprehensive knowledge that allowed me to find my first job really quickly and advance in my career. Can't thank enough all of my professors and mentors! I think Yorkville is a great university to get a degree if you have a busy schedule and want a good education.

Yorkville University has been a great place to study, grow and develop. With a great faculty working behind the scenes, nurturing and guiding adult learners such as myself, I had an amazing experience! At first I was unsure what I was getting myself into, but I have no regrets! It was worth all the time and effort of achieving my goals. Today, I am ecstatic to say, I am a proud graduate and product of a positive, professional, and supportive environment. I highly recommend this university to other adult learners looking for a great experience whether in person or online!

- Profit-Driven Nature: Yorkville University is a for-profit private institution, and this focus on profit is evident in many aspects of their operations.
- Sense of Community: As a virtual student, fostering a sense of camaraderie and support is challenging. Opportunities for connection are minimal, which is disappointing for a Master's program in Counselling, a field that thrives on human interaction. In hindsight, I would choose an in-person school for a more enriching experience.
- Practicum: The expectation to work unpaid for eight months after a course on ethics seems contradictory. Supervisors should adhere to higher ethical standards, as many exploit Yorkville students.
- Quality of Education: While the content is adequate, many courses need updating, particularly in areas like interventions, culturally aware practices, and spirituality. The primary homework format, Discussion Questions, fails to prompt in-depth reflection, becoming a repetitive task rather than an engaging learning activity.
- School’s Reputation: Post-graduation, I've noticed that many employers and colleagues hold a low opinion of Yorkville due to its profit-first model.
- Administrative Support: Communicating with Yorkville staff is frustrating and impersonal. Consistency is lacking, as you rarely speak to the same person twice, and student support is not a priority.

High Points
- Accessibility: The program’s main appeal lies in its high admission rates and virtual format.
- Professors: Some professors, like Dr. Thomasina Odom Lawson, are exceptional and leave a positive impact.
- Career Opportunities: For competent, kind, and curious individuals, this program can open the door to a career in counselling. However, many other schools may provide a better overall experience.

Summary
- If you’re a wealthy introvert looking for a Master's you can complete from home, this program may suit you.
- If you seek any sense of community alongside your education, consider choosing another school.

I knew very well what I was getting into when I started my MACP journey with Yorkville. This prepared me for my experience. I overall had a great experience! The best aspect were the people I met on the way and still know! The courses were good - most professors were okay. Some were amazing! The pace is fast and does not give room for much of anything.
BTW: expect to spend wayyyy more than 20-25 hrs+ some weeks!!

My time at Yorkville University while working on my MACP was fantastic. The courses were challenging but super interesting, and the professors were always there to help out. Plus, connecting with classmates from all walks of life made the whole experience even more rewarding.
